About us

The Eltham Orchestras is based in Eltham, within the beautiful Nillumbik Shire Council area in northeast Melbourne. We have been sharing music with the community for 50 years, fostering a strong tradition of local music-making. Our ensembles perform a wide range of repertoire in regular concerts throughout the year, including three major performances annually, as well as additional community and special events.

We welcome musicians of all ages and appropriate skill levels to join our Wednesday evening rehearsals, held at Montmorency Community Church. Whether you're returning to your instrument after some time away, or looking to broaden your ensemble experience in a supportive and friendly environment, we’d love to hear from you. Our orchestra is a great place to connect with fellow musicians, grow your skills, and be part of a vibrant musical community. As well as providing enjoyable music to our public, the orchestras also seek to provide a developmental path for string players of any age as they progress from beginners through to more accomplished and experienced players.

Please enquire about rehearsal time.
